Which looks the best?
Brunette Tessia or Blonde Tessia

My Kid

This is a photo of Tessia taken just
last night. I don't know why, but her
hair looks brunette in this pic. She
recently had another process on it
to make it more blonde...and it is
really, really blonde in person.
Frankly, I prefer her natural color.
In this pic, you can tell how blonde it is.
It was taken at school during "say no to drugs"
week....when they dressed up each day....this
was the "celebrity day"....and she was dressed
up as Paris Hilton! LOL

This was "decade day" when they had
to choose a decade and dress in the style
of the times....she chose the 60's.

Deep Thoughts

I've been reading THE SECRET by Rhonda Byrne.

Very interesting.

Fascinating, actually.

"Your thoughts create your reality"...basically.

Hummm.

"The Power of Positive Thinking"

Yes, that is good.

However,

The Secret does not supercede The One.

The Power of Prayer - Yes! Now there is

a secret worth sharing!!

XXFirm

My new queen mattress was delivered yesterday.
YAY!
I guess Kim and I have had sleeping on the brain,
because her most recent post is about sleeping too!
I HAD to have a new bed. My old one was a bit
saggy and it was much too soft. My new one
is XX Firm...and I love it!

Tessia said, "it feels like you are lying on a

concrete floor".

I said, "perfect!"

LOL

This pic is just for fun!!

~~Prestigious Poodle~~

I took these photos of my poodle, Jasper,
this morning. He loves to sit in this chair
and watch me while I am on the computer.
It is right next to the window too, and he
loves to look outside. Doesn't he look
regal? :)

THE POETRY OF COLOR

The beautiful colors of this fall tree are just
outside my living room window....and I love it.

In October, a storm brought some
straight-line winds that broke off a huge
branch of my tree. Unfortunately,
it fell directly on my side fence and
tore it down. However, my homeowner's
insurance did cover it! You can see where
it broke off in the photo below.

Orange, green, red, and yellow
mixed, falling, swirling,
Piling on my lawn,
making me feel mellow.

About industrial piercings and why I got one.........

An industrial piercing, sometimes called scaffold piercing (UK) or construction piercing, is any two pierced holes connected with a single straight piece of jewelry (compare to orbital piercing); however, it typically refers to a double perforation of the upper ear cartilage specifically. Two piercings are made, one fairly close to the head (anti-helix piercing), the second further down the cartilage, on the opposite side of the ear (helix piercing). A straight barbell is inserted through the first piercing from behind the ear, travels diagonally across the front of the upper cartilage, then goes through the second piercing, and is secured with a screw-on bead behind the second hole.
The piercings themselves are made with a medium gauge hollow piercing needle, and the barbell jewelry is worn during the healing period. Sometimes, a pair of captive bead rings (CBRs) are used instead, and are exchanged for a barbell after healing is complete. Although the use of CBRs often results in faster healing, proper alignment of the piercings is difficult when this technique is used. It can be pierced with a flexible plastic tube and swapped for the metal bar when its healed. Healing typically takes between three months to one year.
Proper care for this piercing during the healing process includes cleaning it with a Q-tip or cotton balls and saline solution. Twisting or sliding of the bar is required so the bar inserted does not grow skin around it.
Two or more of this type of piercing located on the same ear is typically referred to as an ear cage.

This is a closeup photo of my industrial

piercing after one week of healing. I have to

keep the barbell pushed in at the top of my

ear so hair does not wrap around it and cause

problems. That is why more of the barbell

is protruding at the bottom. A couple of days ago,

I did have hair wrapped around it and it was not

a pretty sight! Some of the hair had actually worked

its way INTO the hole of the piercing.

I went back to my piercer and she

removed the screw-on bead, got the hair out, and

cleaned it up. She suggested I use Sea Salt in

addition to cleaning it with antibacterial soap.

I disolve a teaspoon of Sea Salt in hot water and

use soaked cotton balls to squeeze the solution

over the entire area. It feels so good and speeds

healing!

Now.....the answer to the question that so many

people have asked me, "WHY??"

I have two tattoos...one on each outside ankle.

Each tattoo has a very significant meaning and I was

compelled by my soul to get them.

It was the same way with the industrial piercing.

It represents a recent decision I made in my life that

will continue to influence my future in a very positive

way.

See The Fat Girl Naked

I have just found out that one of my favorite author's
2nd book is being published in January!! I read her debut novel,

Conversations With The Fat Girl (which I have mentioned in

my blog before - click link) and it has become one of my all

time favorite novels. Liza Palmer's style of writing is just my

style and I can't wait to get my hands on her new book,

Seeing Me Naked.

Fayetteville Foliage Trip

On Saturday (Nov. 10, 2007) Tessia and I drove to Fayetteville
in hopes of seeing a lot of nice Fall Foliage. Unfortunately,
this one photo is the only one I took during the trip. It seems
all the foliage peaked LAST weekend and we missed most of it!
However, the trip was certainly not a waste of time. We went to
the Northwest Arkansas Mall in Fayetteville for some shopping. After
that, we went to several other stores in the area and had lunch at
a place we had never eaten at before: NOODLES ITALIAN KITCHEN.
They have the best wood-fired pizza! Yummie!!
After the late lunch, we drove on to Rogers & Bentonville for some
more shopping and finally ended our day at the Bentonville Super 8.
That is a super nice, yet reasonable hotel. Check out the link...nicest
Super 8 I've ever seen!

This was the best shot of the foliage I could get.

While at the mall, we met and cheered with

the Razorback mascots and cheerleaders.

Unfortunately, it was not enough to bring them

to victory over Tennessee. :(

The owner of this car MUST be one of the biggest

Razorback fans in Arkansas! :) It was parked in

one of the shopping center parking lots in

Fayetteville.

We did one other thing while in Fayetteville................

Tessia and I both went to Bee Line Tattoos & Piercing

I got an industrial ear piercing and

Tailgatin' with da' Razorbacks!!!

Tessia, Megan, and I attended the Razorback Homecoming
game and we tailgated with Rose Mary and Kevin....and several
of their friends.
We had such a great time!

Tessia and I, sportin' our Hog Pride!

We played frisby in the parking lot, and this
is Megan tossing it.
Tessia tried to catch it here, but missed; you
can see the disc behind Megan's legs!

Kevin, Rose Mary, and me on the shuttle
bus from the parking lot to the stadium.
(all you can see of me is the top of my hat
and my sunglasses) LOL

I crossed the finish line!!

The Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure
took place in Little Rock yesterday,
October 20, 2007 at 8:00am.
I was one of 44,000 who crossed the finish line
to help fight breast cancer.
It was a wonderful experience and I plan
to attend next year's event as well.

Here we are crossing the Arkansas
River.

Here we are in downtown.
Tessia was supposed to race with me, but
she had Homecoming this weekend and was
unable to attend.

Very recent photography

I took these photographs early this morning
from my back yard. The layer of fog was
absolutely enchanting!
